Welcome

Maguy Durcé is a multifaceted Haitian leader whose career spans politics, fashion, education, and faith-based community work. Political and Educational Leadership

Dr. Durcé has member of the Polical Party KID, held several high-ranking positions in Haiti's government, including serving as Minister of Trade and Industry, Secretary of State for Education,

and Advisor to the President on private investment. She has over 20 years of experience in public administration, having worked closely with the Prime Minister, First Lady, and President of Haiti .

As Director General of the Institut National de Formation Professionnelle (INFP), Haiti's national vocational training agency, Dr. Durcé played a pivotal role in integrating the institution into UNESCO’s

UNEVOC Network. This move aimed to enhance technical and vocational education across the country .

WHO I AM

Behind The Name

Fashion and Cultural Advocacy Dr. Durcé began her journey in fashion at the age of nine, working in her mother's studio. She later pursued formal studies in fashion design in Paris and Haiti. Her creations are available through her Mag-Art store in Pétionville, Haiti, and have reached markets in the United States, Japan, and the Dominican Republic .

History

In 2007, she launched the brand  MODAYITI and has since been recognized as a leading designer in Haiti and the Caribbean. Dr. Durcé is also the founder of MODAYITI and the Haitian Network of Designers (HAND), organizations dedicated to promoting Haitian fashion and supporting local designers  .

 

As the founder of Haiti Fashion Week, Dr. Durcé has worked to reshape international perceptions of Haiti by highlighting its creativity and cultural richness.  She emphasized the event's role in showcasing Haiti's positive aspects, countering negative stereotypes often portrayed in the media  .

Faith and Community Engagement

 

Beyond her professional endeavors, Dr. Durcé is a pastor and active community leader.  She and her husband, Pastor Marc, are involved in faith-based initiatives, including hosting women's groups and community worship events . She is actually the Président of the Haitian Protestant Churches abroad (FEHAPCO)

 

Education and Recognition

 

Dr. Durcé earned her Doctorate in Management from Atlantic International University, where she expressed gratitude for the support she received during her studies .
